2nd Annual OktoberFeast RECAP
The sun began to set above the trees that line Applecrest Farm's raspberry patches just as guests started to arrive. Locals lined up along the long feast table moving from fermented sauerkraut, to German-style warm potato salad, to beer poached rose veal and pork Bratwurst. Giant pickles sat fat and chilled on the plates of some, while many chatted about the unique and spicy mustard atop their sourdough pretzels, which hung fresh for the picking from a miniature coat rack. New Hampshire brewers began where the band and the feast table ended, offering hearty samples and answers to questions about their unique brew.
The event took place on Monday, October 24, from 5-8PM on Applecrest Farm in Hampton Falls and featured a pigroast, farm-fresh feast prepared by Applecrest Farm Bistro chefs, a brewfest, a live concert, and a raffle auctioning off gift cards to various New Hampshire restaurants. Oktoberfeast is a collaborative work between edible New Hampshire magazine, Applecrest Farm, and all of our volunteers to showcase community support for local food, farms, breweries, and businesses. Proceeds benefitted nonprofit organization Seacoast Eat Local.
