- 2 cups milk (whole preferred)
- 5 ounces of fine chocolate, finely chopped or grated (choose 70% or darker, ingredients should be just cacao and sugar)
Heat the milk in a saucepan.
Add the chocolate and whisk till fully melted and incorporated. Cool the drinking chocolate for a few hours.
To serve, heat the chocolate to near boil, whisking the whole time.
There are infinite ways to modify this recipe. You may use cream or water in place of the milk, or add spices, vanilla, honey, or any number of other ingredients. I’m a purist though, and prefer my chocolate straight up.
